The coastline of south-west Turkey, where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean Sea, is a paradise for sea kayakers: steep rugged cliffs, deserted sandy bays, deep clear pools, hidden coves and fascinating islands, not to mention a huge variety of sea life and sea birds.

The coastline is dotted with ruined castles and cities. Yet despite its beauty, this coast is rarely visited outside the tourist resorts. And of course the climate makes our area even more attractive for paddling - hot, settled, sunny weather for much of the year, and a relatively warm sea.

Whether you are an experienced expedition paddler, a relative novice, or a total beginner, we have a guided trip to suit you - choose a 1-day, 3-day or 6-day trip, or let us designed a customized itinerary for you. Alternatif Outdoor was the first to introduce sea kayaking to this part of Turkey and we have been running paddling trips here since 1998. We insist on using high-quality, well-maintained equipment and experienced English-speaking guides. Experienced paddlers also have the option of renting kayaks and gear for an independent trip.

Guided Trips - 1 Day
A fun, active and different way to get way from the crowds and explore the beautiful coastline of Turkey’s Turquoise Coast. We offer a variety of trips, listed below, suitable for beginners and for people with previous paddling experience. We start all trips with a briefing and practice session in the kayaks, to introduce you to paddling techniques and safety procedures. A picnic lunch is provided on all one-day tours, plus transport to the start/finish point where necessary. We run these trips on demand (minimum 4 people), or as part of a customised itinerary, any time between April and October.

Guided Trips - 3 Day
If you have a few days available, and you are thirsty for of adventure, why not join one of our 3-day sea-kayaking expeditions. This is a rare chance to explore some of the remoter areas of Turkey that few visitors ever see, and to experience its historical and natural heritage from a very different perspective.

These are true expeditions - we carry all our gear and food in the kayaks, and camp in a different place every night. We provide all meals, mostly cooked in camp (these are often one of the highlights of the trip.). We offer a variety of trips, listed below, suitable for beginners and people with previous paddling experience. We start all trips with a briefing and practice session in the kayaks, to introduce you to paddling techniques and safety procedures. We run these trips for a minimum of 2 people, any time between April and October. Any of them can modified if required and incorporated into a customised itinerary

Our 6-day and 7-day expeditions are for people who are looking for a truly active and adventurous holiday. As on our 3-day expeditions, this is a chance to explore some of the remoter areas of Turkey that few visitors ever see, and to experience its historical and natural heritage from a very different perspective, but a longer trip enables us to explore even remoter areas and in more detail.
These are true expeditions - we carry all our gear and food in the kayaks, and camp in a different place every night. We start all trips with a briefing and practice session in the kayaks, to introduce you to paddling techniques and safety procedures. ROUTE PLANNING
We will be happy to advise on a suitable route, based on the time you have available and your previous experience (free of charge for those renting kayaks from us).

TRANSPORT
We can arrange delivery of you and the kayaks to your start point, and pick-up from your finish point.
Airport transfers can also be arranged.
Cost depends on the distance involved.
Accommodation:
We can arrange hotel accommodation for you at the start and/or end of your trip.
Please note that we only rent kayaks of groups of at least 2 people. People renting kayaks should be able to demonstrate that they have sufficient prior experience of kayaking techniques.
